There is such a vast choice of fabrics ranging from simple fun, children’s fabrics through contemporary styles, traditional florals, and modern abstract designs.
Fabrics can be printed onto simple base cloths or more luxurious weaves and chenilles and velvets.
Many fabrics provide interest in the manner of the weave which creates stunning textures and contrast shadowing between light and dark.
Satin weaves look stunning in a bedroom as they reflect light beautifully.
Most soft furnishing fabrics use natural fibres such as cotton, linen or wool. However, polyester, viscose & nylon are also popular for their crease-resistant properties.
Curtains obviously need some form of rail from which they are hung. While poles are currently the most popular, you can also use a simple hand-drawn or corded track which can be covered with fabric or disguised beneath a pelmet.
